U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Phillip Voss, a canvassing recruiter with Recruiting Substation North Boston, blocks a University of Massachusetts - Boston women’s soccer team player from completing an obstacle during a leadership seminar at the UMass Boston fields, Aug. 19. Marine Corps leadership seminars are events wherein participants are taught about what makes good individual leaders and team cohesiveness followed by a workout regimen designed to make participants exercise those leadership principles under stress.
