Marines with Recruiting Substation Brockton, Massachusetts, salute the casket of Sam Bernstein at Temple Beth AM, Dec. 30. Bernstein was a former Marine during World War II where he participated in the battle of Iwo Jima, taking some sand home with him. Although leaving the service in 1946, he remained proud of his service and for being a Marine. The Marines of RSS Brockton volunteered to assist with the funeral.
