Jamel Herring, a Marine veteran from Coram, N.Y., poses for a photo with friend and former teammate Sgt. Todd DeKinderen, a recruiter with Recruiting Station New York, at Barclays Center, Brooklyn, N.Y., June 22. During Herring’s time in the Corps he was a member of the All-Marine Boxing Team, which put him on the path that lead to his qualification to be on the Olympic boxing team.
