Major Ronald Saglimbene

Major Saglimbene is a Wyckoff, New Jersey, -native and graduated from the University of Scranton in 2004 with a BS in Biology.  From 2004-2008 he served as an assistant College Wrestling Coach and High School Biology Teacher.  In October 2008, he attended Officer Candidate School.

After completion of the Basic Engineer Officer’s Course, he was ordered to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion (CEB), Camp Pendleton, California.  He served as platoon commander, Assault Breacher Vehicle Platoon, Mobility Assault Company (Co), and deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) 10.2 in October 2010.  He completed breaching and clearing operations in support of (ISO) 3d Battalion, 5th Marines in Sangin, 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance (LAR) Battalion in Bahram Chah, and 3d Squadron, Second Calvary Regiment, U.S. Army in Kandahar.  He was then assigned as Executive Officer of Co C, 1st CEB and deployed to OEF 12.1 in direct support of Regimental Combat Team 6.

After graduating from Winter Mountain Leaders Course 1-13, he was re-assigned to Co C, 4th CEB, Lynchburg, Virginia, and served as Inspector-Instructor from April 2013 - August 2015. He managed the demobilization and reintegration of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Forces 13.2/13.3 and managed the division engineer planning and deployment processing ISO African Lion 15.

Following accession to the Select Marine Corps Reserves in September 2015, he graduated from Infantry Officer’s Course 2-16, and LAR Leader’s Course 2-16.  As a member of Co A, 4th LAR Battalion, he has served as both a Platoon Commander and Executive Officer, to include Fire Support Team Leader.

After Graduating from Marine Advisors Course, Major Saglimbene was mobilized ISO Resolute Support from January 2019 - December 2019.  He served as the senior imbedded advisor for Company B, 43rd Georgina Infantry Battalion aboard Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, to include overseeing the planning and execution of all combat missions and force protection operations.    

From January 2020 – June 2021, Major Saglimbene served as the OIC of Recruiting and Advertising Station West, Marine Corps Special Operation Command.

After selection on the FY21-2 Active Reserve Officers Board, Maj Saglimbene was ordered to 1st Marine Corps District, Garden City, New York.  He is currently serving in Command of Prior Service Recruiting Station – 1.

Major Saglimbene is a graduate of Expeditionary Warfare School, Command and Staff College, and holds a Master’s in Exercise Science from East Stroudsburg University.
