Major Jason E. Duehring

Major Duehring enlisted in the Marine Corps in August of 1998 in Tallahassee, Florida. Upon completion of initial training, he served in both 2d and 4th Assault Amphibian Battalions. During this period, he deployed in 2002 to South America in support of UNITAS 43-02 and in 2003 to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Upon return from OIF, Major Duehring completed his bachelor's degree from Florida State University while in the Marine Corps Reserve.

In 2005 Major Duehring volunteered to attend training to earn the additional MOS of 0312, Riverine Assault Craft Coxswain. In 2006 he deployed to Ramadi, Iraq in support of OIF with the II MEF Small Craft Detachment. Upon return from OIF, he worked as an instructor of riverine warfare at the Joint Maritime Training Center in Camp Lejeune, NC until selected to attend Officers Candidate School (OCS) in Quantico, VA.

Upon graduation from OCS in 2010, Major Duehring attended The Basic School and Infantry Officers Course where he earned the primary MOS of 0302. In 2011 he was assigned to 2d Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment as a Rifle Platoon Commander where in 2011 he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon return, he was assigned to Weapons Company as the Executive Officer. In 2013, he deployed in support of the Unit Deployment Program (UDP) to Okinawa, Japan. Upon return from UDP, he received assignment to Ft Benning, Ga. to attend the US Army Maneuver Captains Career Course (MCCC).

In 2014, Major Duehring completed MCCC and received assignment to be an instructor at TBS. While there, he served as the Patrolling Primary, Warfighting Instructor Group, and as a Staff Platoon Commander. In 2016 Major Duehring was reassigned to the Infantry Officers Course as an instructor. In 2018 he received orders to 2d Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment to serve as a Company Commander.

In 2018 Major Duehring took command of Golf Company, 2d Battalion, 8th Marines the Mechanized Company for the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). In 2019 he deployed with Golf Company, Battalion Landing Team 28 in support of the 26th MEU. Halfway through the deployment, he was reassigned as the Battalion Operations Officer. He served in this capacity for the next two years including a deployment in support of the Unit Deployment Program in 2021. During this deployment, he was selected to be the Commanding Officer of Recruiting Station New Jersey, 1st Marine Corps Recruiting District. Major Duehring took command of RS NJ in June of 2022.
