Sergeant Major John C. Eversley II

Sergeant Major Eversley currently serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Recruiting Station New Jersey.  He has performed in this capacity since March 2026.

Sergeant Eversley was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in September of 2007.  He reported to Marine Air Control Squadron 2 (MACS-2), Cherry Point, North Carolina.  Lance Corporal Eversley deployed with MACS-2 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In May 2010, Corporal Eversley deployed on USS Iwo Jima (LHD-1) attached to the Command Element for a humanitarian assistance mission Continuing Promise out of Camp Lejeune, NC.

In April 2011, Corporal Eversley executed PCS orders to Headquarters and Service Battalion Quantico, Virginia and attached to Range Management Branch to serve as Motor Transportation Chief.  In May 2013, Sergeant Eversley obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa.

In January 2014, Sergeant Eversley reported to Drill Instructor School at Parris Island, SC. In March 2014, Sergeant Eversley reported to Company A, 1st RTBN, RTR, MCRD Parris Island, SC where he served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor and Chief Drill Instructor completing nine cycles.  

Staff Sergeant Eversley reported to Combat Logistics Regiment 35, 3D Marine Logistics Group, Okinawa Japan in May 2017. In February 2018, Staff Sergeant Eversley deployed to Gwangyang, Korea in support of freedom Banner/SSang Yong. In June 2018, Staff Sergeant Eversley deployed with 3D Marine Logistics Group to Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands as 76th Anniversary Ceremonial Action Officer.  Gunnery Sergeant Eversley ended service throughout Combat Logistic Regiment 35 deactivation in May 2020 as the Headquarters Company Gunnery Sergeant.

In June 2020, Gunnery Sergeant Eversley reported to Officer Candidate School, Quantico Virginia where he served as Sergeant Instructor, Platoon Sergeant and Physical Training Instruction SNCOIC.

In February 2023, First Sergeant Eversley reported to First Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, MACG-18, Marine Corps Base Hawaii. First Sergeant Eversley served as plank holder through activation and development of Battalion until reaching Full Operational Capability with complete fielding of Ground Base Air Defense assets.  In August 2024, First Sergeant Eversley obtained Master Degree in Business Administration from American Military University.

Sergeant Major Eversley is currently married to Ryshena C. Eversley. They have three children together: Jayah C. Eversley Wright (22), Jade C. Eversley age (19), and John C. Eversley III age (17).

Sergeant Major Eversley's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
