The Marines from Marine Corps Recruiting Substation Brooklyn pose for a photo with three of the original Montford Point Marines. Numerous Montford Point Marines spoke to the Marines of Recruiting Station New York about their experiences at the Bethpage Community Park Feb. 27. The Montford Point Marines fought two wars, one abroad and one at home. While they fought for freedom overseas, they returned home to a nation that was separate and unequal. Breaking through racial barriers, they transformed the face of the Marine Corps.
