Col. J. J. Dill, commanding officer of 1st Marine Corps District, receives the unit colors from Sgt. Maj. Samuel Heyward, the 1MCD Sergeant Major, during a change of command ceremony on Naval Weapons Station Earle, July 11. During the ceremony, Dill relinquished his command to Col. James T.
