Kevin W. Clark is a native of Mission, Texas. He enlisted in April 1999 and underwent recruit training with Company G, 2d Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California.
In December 1999, Sergeant Major Clark completed Infantry Rifleman training aboard Camp Pendleton, California. He was ordered to Company B, 1st Battalion 6th Marines, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for duty. He served in multiple billets within the infantry rifle squad and deployed twice in support of the Unit Deployment Program and once in support of II MEF, UNITAS. Sergeant Major Clark transferred in February 2003 to 3d Battalion 2d Marines, as a team leader, where he conducted combat operations in Al-Nazaria, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sergeant Major Clark reported to Basic Recruiter School in February 2004, aboard MCRD San Diego. He completed school in April 2004 and was assigned to 8th Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Recruiting Sub-Station Enid, Oklahoma as a canvassing recruiter. He successfully completed his tour April 2007.
Sergeant Major Clark was then assigned to 2d Battalion 3d Marines, Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii for duty on June 2007. As a Platoon Sergeant with Company E, he participated in combat operations in Al Karmah, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Helmand Province in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Sergeant Major Clark was assigned to Headquarters Battalion, Staff Non Commissioned Officers Academy, Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay on January 2010, where he served as a Faculty Advisor and Corporals Course SNCOIC. While serving as a Faculty Advisor he attained his Master Faculty Advisor Certification.
Sergeant Major Clark was then assigned to 3d Battalion 1st Marines in March 2013. As a Gunnery Sergeant he was a Weapons Platoon Sergeant for Company L, and Company Gunnery Sergeant for Company I. He deployed twice, once in support of the Unit Deployment Program, and once with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
Sergeant Major Clark was assigned to The Basic School (TBS) in February 2016. He was assigned as a Company First Sergeant for Basic Officer Course (BOC) 4-16 and Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC) 4-17. He was selected to 1stSgt in December 2017. After the completion of his duties at TBS, he was ordered to 1st Battalion, 11th Marines, 1st Marine Division for duty as a Battery First Sergeant.
Sergeant Major Clark assumed his duties as Battery First Sergeant for Headquarters Battery, Bravo Battery, and assisted with the stand up of Fire Support Battery. He deployed in support of the Western Pacific as a part of the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
Sergeant Major Clark reported to School of Infantry East, Headquarters and Support Battalion, Headquarters and Support Company in June 2020. He was subsequently transfered to 6th Marine Regiment Headquarters Company for duty as the Company First Sergeant. Nine months later, he was transfered to 2d Battalion 6th Marines for duty as the Headquarters Company First Sergeant and deployed on the 22d MEU. He was promoted to his current rank on 2 December 2022.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (fourth award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (second award), and Combat Action Ribbon.
Sergeant Major Clark is happily married to Ms. Priscilla Clark of Mission, Texas and has two children, Matthew and Paityn.
