Staff Sgts. Michael Tomlin and Jonathan Wright stand with former and retired Marine veterans as well as members of the Women Marine Association after presenting Martha Potter (seated left) and Mary Paquette, World War II veterans, with Victory Medals at the Southside Tavern in Manchester, N.H., Sept. 16, 2017. Many of the small contingent of the Women Marine Reserves during WWII were discharged from the service following the conclusion of the war, and as such were not awarded the Victory Medal. The Area 1 chapter of the WMA teamed with Marines of Recruiting Station Portsmouth, N.H., to identify and present such women with the medals. Tomlin is a canvassing recruiter with Recruiting Substation Dover, N.H., and Wright is the Marketing and Communications Chief for RS Portsmouth.
