Staff Sergeant Evens Charles stopped an assault on a young woman while recruiting in Brooklyn, New York, July 25, 2017. Charles was walking in Coney Island when he saw a young woman being choked out and pushed to the ground. He jumped into action, detained the assailant and got the local police involved. Charles is a recruiter with Recruiting Substation Flatbush, Recruiting Station New York.
