General Joseph Dunford (center), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stands with Capt. Jacob Nihart, the Officer Selection Officer of OST Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and 2nd Lt. Nicholas Nevers following the latter's graduation of the Maine Maritime Academy, May 7, 2016. Nevers became a Marine Corps officer through the Platoon Leader's Course where he attended Marine officer training during his college summers and commissioned during his graduation. Dunford was the guest speaker and commissioning officer of the graduation as his niece graduated and commissioned into the Navy.
