Robert Klare, former Marine staff sergeant and survivor of the attack of Pearl Harbor in World War II, promoted Sgt. Travis Colson to staff sergeant on the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack, Dec. 7. Klare, a resident of Colson's recruiting area of operation, wanted to promote the Marine to the rank he once was due to the camaraderie that the Marine Corps holds for all Marines, regardless of rank or age. Colson is staff noncommissioned officer-in-charge of Recruiting Substation Dover, New Hampshire.
