Sgt. Maj. Sam D. Lewis, the outgoing sergeant major of the 1st Marine Corps District, salutes his former command after relinquishing his responsibilities as the unit’s sergeant major April 12 during a relief and appointment ceremony at the Cradle of Aviation Museum. Lewis is slated to be the sergeant major of Marine Corps Recruiting Command’s Western Recruiting Region.
