Major Christopher M. Flood

Major Flood enlisted in the Marine Corps in June of 2004. Upon completion of recruit training, he was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 472 from 2004 to 2007, and 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment from 2007 to 2009. During his tour, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from September 2008 to April 2009. Major Flood attended Officers Candidate School from October to December 2009, and attended The Basic School and Logistics Officers Course in 2010.

In October 2010, Major Flood reported into 3d Reconnaissance Battalion, where he served as the Battalion Logistics Officer in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Helmand Province, Afghanistan from May to December 2011. From January 2012 to June 2013, Major Flood served as the Battalion Assistant Logistics Officer supporting exercises throughout the pacific.

Major Flood attended Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, Virginia from 2013 to 2014 before reporting to The Basic School for duty as a warfighting instructor. Major Flood then served as a Staff Platoon Commander for Bravo Company 2-15, and an Executive Officer for Fox Company 6-15. Major Flood completed his tour at The Basic School by serving as an Instructor Education Program (IEP) Primary.

Major Flood reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron 373 to serve as the Motor Transport Company Commander. He deployed as the Support Company Commander attached to the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command from October 2017 through March 2018. Upon his return, Major Flood attended the Intermediate Marine Air Ground Task Force Logistics Operations Course, and served as the Squadron Logistics Officer and Headquarters and Service Company Commander. During this time, he served as the lead logistics planner for support to Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course 1-19, Integrated Training Exercise 3-19, as well as the Catalina Island runway repair project.

Major Flood reported to the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit for duty as the Command Element Logistics Officer in July 2019. During his tour, the Command deployed on LHD-1 in October 2019 in support of the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-WASP. Following this sail, Major Flood deployed with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit as the Command Element, Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command from May 2020 to February 2021.

Major Flood holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science from the University of Connecticut.

His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three gold stars in lieu of fourth award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award, and the Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal.
