Sergeant Major Adrian Lopez

Sergeant Major Adrian Lopez was born in Lovington, New Mexico. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in January of 1999 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD), San Diego, CA. After graduating Marine Combat Training at School of Infantry West, Private Lopez reported to Camp Johnson, NC, and attended the Personnel Administration School and obtained the Military Occupational Specialty of 0131. 

Private First Class Lopez reported to 1st Battalion 8th Marines Camp Lejeune, NC, and was assigned as a unit diary clerk.  In July of 2000, he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.

In December of 2001, Lance Corporal Lopez was promoted to the rank of Corporal and transferred to Headquarters Battalion 2d Marine Division.

In November 2002, Corporal Lopez reported to 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines and deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (OIF 1) with Regimental Combat Team 2 (RCT-2).

In August 2003, Corporal Lopez reported to Weapons Company, 1st Battalion 23rd Marines, Inspector Instructor Staff, Austin, TX. In October 2003, he was promoted to Sergeant.

In August 2006, Sgt Lopez reported to II MHG Camp Lejeune, NC and was assigned as an Admin Chief. In April 2007, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant.

In February 2009, Staff Sergeant Lopez reported to Recruiter School, San Diego, CA.  Upon completion he reported to Recruiting Station Albuquerque, NM, Recruiting Sub-Station Lubbock, TX. In October 2010, Staff Sergeant Lopez was assigned to Recruiting Sub-Station El Paso East, TX as the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge. In February 2011, he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant. 

In May 2012, Gunnery Sergeant Lopez reported to Marine Attack Fighter Squadron 323 San Diego, CA and was assigned as the Administrative Chief. He participated in the Unit Deployment Program (UDP) from May 2013 to November 2013 in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. He deployed again in support of the UDP from January 2015 to July 2015.

In August 2015, Gunnery Sergeant Lopez reported to Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence School Dam Neck, Virginia Beach, VA, and was assigned as the Legal Officer and Administrative Chief. In March of 2017, he was frocked to First Sergeant.

In March 2017, First Sergeant Lopez reported to 1st Battalion 10th Marines, Camp Lejeune, NC, and was assigned as both Alpha and Bravo Battery First Sergeant.

In February 2019, he reported to Combat Logistics Regiment 27 and was assigned as the Headquarters Company First Sergeant.

Sergeant Major Lopez was frocked to his current rank in February 2021, and reported to Recruiting Station Baltimore, MD in March 2021.

Sergeant Major Lopez's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with four gold stars in lieu of fifth award, Combat Action Ribbon, and Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
